Aluminium Door Flush Bolt – Lever Action Flush Bolt with Long Rod for Double Doors

This aluminium door flush bolt is a lever action flush bolt with a long rod, used to secure the fixed (inactive) leaf of aluminium double doors and shopfront doors. Flick the lever and the rod shoots into the head or floor, holding the leaf firmly closed.

Choosing the right aluminium door flush bolt

Measure the faceplate length and width of your old flush bolt and the length of the rod before ordering. Send us a photo of your old bolt and we will confirm it matches.

Fitting tips

Fitting an aluminium door flush bolt is a straightforward job for most installers. Remove the old part, check the new one matches the cut-outs and fixing holes, then fit it with the screws supplied or your existing fixings. Test the lock several times with the door open before closing it, so you never lock yourself out. If anything feels stiff, check the door is hanging square and the keep lines up. For more guidance, see the Secured by Design website.

Need help choosing?

Not sure what you have? Many old locks and cylinders have no markings, so we regularly help customers match parts from a photo and a few measurements. Send us a clear picture of the faceplate, the side of the case or the cylinder, along with the backset and length, and our team will point you to the correct replacement before you spend a penny.

Care and maintenance

To keep your aluminium door flush bolt working smoothly, clean away dust and grit from the lock and keep every 6 to 12 months, and use a dry PTFE or graphite lubricant rather than oil, which attracts dirt. If the key or latch starts to feel stiff, check the door alignment first – a dropped door puts strain on any lock.
